With a nice big red felt heart stitched to the front.
And a cute pink bow to tie it all up.
What you'll need:
- Muslin Fabric
- Red Felt
- Pink Embroidery Floss and Needle
- Coordinating Thread and Sewing Machine
- Pink Ribbon
Cut the muslin into a 6" x 16" strip for each bag.
Fold the strip in half, and decide where you'd like to pin your felt heart. I used the cardboard template from my Felt Heart Garland to make these.
Using pink embroidery floss and a large needle, stitch a running stitch around the whole heart.
Finish it off by tying the embroidery floss ends together in the back.
Fold the strip to have the ends together, with the heart facing in.
Using a sewing machine, stitch up both sides of the fabric, with a 1/4" seam, leaving the top open.
if you'd like to have squared corners on the bottom, its an easy thing to do that will make the bags stand up on their own better. With the bag still inside out, take one of the bottom corners and fold it so that the bottom seam and the side seam are touching. Then stitch straight across the corner 1/2" down. It should look like the photo above. Repeat on the other corner.
When you turn it inside out, you should have squared corners like this.
When it is all folded inside out, it should look like this...just waiting to be filled with treats!
Fill it with your goodies and tie it up with a cute ribbon.
A little bundle of fun to lift someone's spirits.
